Rave alternatives: six honest options, compared
Updated 5 November 2026.
The best Rave alternative depends on your device: on a computer, Herae adds a free video call on almost any site in Chrome, TwoSeven suits groups on Chrome or Firefox, and Watch2Gether needs nothing installed. If you need something for iPhone, Herae can't help, and your options are fewer. We make Herae, so read this knowing that. On Android, Rave is still hard to beat, and we say so below.
Quick answer: which one fits you
- You want to see each other, on almost any site: Herae (ours; the video call is on the free plan, Chrome on a computer only).
- A group of friends on Chrome or Firefox: TwoSeven (rooms on twoseven.xyz with an extension; free to start).
- Mostly YouTube or other open video sites, nothing to install: Watch2Gether (browser rooms, no account).
- Netflix, Disney+ or Prime with text chat is enough: Teleparty.
- iPhone or iPad: Herae doesn't sync video on phones or tablets, and TwoSeven says most of its features won't work there. Teleparty's site mentions mobile, so check its current device list.
- Android phones: stay with Rave.
Details and sources for each are in the comparison below.
Why you might look for a Rave alternative
Rave's own pages point to four things:
- iPhone and Mac. Rave's site says Apple removed it from the App Store. On saverave.com, Rave says that blocks new downloads, updates and reinstalls, that macOS now blocks Rave with a warning after Apple revoked its developer certificate, and that Sign in with Apple stopped working for its users. That is Rave's account of a dispute it is contesting, and its site still lists iPhone and Mac.
- Seeing each other. Rave's FAQ and Google Play listing describe talking and texting. Neither mentions video calls.
- Sites outside its list. You watch supported services inside the app. Rave's FAQ also says it doesn't support rented or paid content from YouTube and Amazon.
- Ads. Rave is free and its Play listing says it contains ads; Rave Premium removes them.

Other Rave alternatives, compared
These are the tools people most often weigh against Rave. Facts are from each tool's own site, checked 5 November 2026; where a site doesn't say something, we've left it out rather than guess.
| Tool | How it works | Where it runs | Talking | Price | Good fit when |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Herae (ours) | Chrome extension; each person plays from their own account on the site itself; syncs any site's video player, including embeds | Chrome on computers | Voice and video call + chat, free plan included | Free to start; $6.99/month for two, or $49 a year | you want to see each other, or your site isn't on anyone's list |
| TwoSeven | Rooms on twoseven.xyz plus a browser extension; everyone needs direct access to the video | Chrome or Firefox on computers (Firefox on Android works; most features don't on phones or iPads) | Webcams and live chat | Free to start; Hulu and Disney+ need one Patreon or Ko-Fi supporter in the room | a group of friends on computers |
| Teleparty | Browser extension for a list of streaming services | Chrome, Edge and Safari; its site mentions mobile too, so check there for devices | Group chat; video and audio chat with Premium | Free plan; Premium is paid (its Premium page no longer lists prices) | you stay on the big services and text is enough |
| Watch2Gether | Browser rooms, no account needed; extensions for Netflix-type services | Any browser; extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge | Chat room; webcam support | Free; paid upgrade available | you mostly watch YouTube or other open video sites |
| Hyperbeam | A shared browser streamed to everyone, now at watch.hyperbeam.com | Browser | See its site | See its site | one person drives and everyone else just watches |
| Discord / video-call screen share | One person shares their screen | Anywhere Discord runs | Voice and video | Free | sites without copy protection; Netflix, Prime and Disney+ show a black screen (why) |

What is a good Rave alternative?
On a computer, Herae works on almost any site with a video player in Chrome and has voice and video calls on its free plan, TwoSeven suits groups on Chrome or Firefox, and Watch2Gether needs nothing installed. On Android, Rave itself is still the strongest choice.
Is Rave still on the App Store?
Rave's site says Apple removed it from the App Store, and Rave is contesting that through saverave.com. Rave's FAQ still lists iPhone and iPad, so check rave.io for the current position.
Does Rave have video chat?
Rave's FAQ and Google Play listing describe text and voice chat and don't mention video calls. Herae includes voice and video calls on its free plan, in Chrome on a computer.
Is there a Rave alternative for iPhone?
Herae isn't one: it doesn't sync video on phones or tablets. TwoSeven says most of its features won't work on iPhone or iPad. Teleparty's site mentions mobile, so check its current device list.
Do both people need their own subscription?
Yes, on both. Rave says you need a paid subscription to the service you watch from, and with Herae each person plays from their own account.
